Group Formed: September 2006
Level: Working on level 1
Horse: Bullwinkle Bay Quarter Horse Aged 16 (Bully) and Spirit Studbook Palomino Arab- Aged 3
Quantum Savvy Student: Since June 2006
Horsie Background:I was first introduced to horses when I was 17 at a trail riding centre which did not turn out so well. I have always liked horses but never had the opportunity to be with them until my daughter bought a horse and I decided to have some lessons. After owning a couple of horses that weren’t really suitable for me, I ended up with Bully who did have a few problems but who also showed me that working with horses was a better deal. I bought him from people with a natural background which I hadn’t heard of before. It peaked my curiosity and my understanding of horses and horse phsycology all started from there.
Why you started with Quantum Savvy:A couple of my close friends had joined QS and they encouraged me to look into it. After much procrastination I joined my friends at the instructor week. During this time I met Shane and Meredith - rather nervously!, but found them to be warm, professional and with a genuine interest in their students and instructors. After a rather nervous talk with Meredith I decided I would like to undertake the professional program as I found QS to be locally based and had more hands on support for students. They also give you personal attention, understanding of your own personal issues, assistance to overcome them (eg my physical limitations). The program is cost effective and flexible, and professional goals are achievable.
Goals:To become a QS Professional Instructor so I can teach people and help them to improve their communi- cation with horses whilst remaining safe and confident, and to assist people to overcome their personal fears. To overcome my own fears and to be able to ride confidently and become an excellent leader for my horses. To start a
natural horsemanship centre at Cawarral......at my place!
Claim to fame:Perseverance, determination and helping people and horses. Promoting
natural horsemanship through local newspaper-bulletin.
What drives you?My love for people and their welfare followed by animals and my passion for horses -their owners and finally the future of the horse.
Anything else you’d like to add:Not at this point for fear of bragging LOL!! Thank you so much Shane and Meredith for providing such a wonderful program.
